Designed for a couple in their seventies, this apartment in Israel’s Sharon area was comprehensively renovated by Maya Sheinberger to support a comfortable, contemporary lifestyle while preserving meaningful pieces from the owners’ existing collection. The public areas were completely reconfigured around a larger open kitchen, living and dining space. Structural columns were incorporated into the new kitchen cabinetry, allowing the kitchen to expand while creating additional pantry and storage space. Walnut, concrete, iron and leather introduce warmth and texture against a restrained architectural backdrop. Original vintage pieces — including a Kastiel sofa and the owners’ table lamps — were integrated alongside contemporary furniture and custom-designed elements, giving the interior a personal character. The generous primary suite was carefully refined with new materials, built-in storage and an accessible walk-in shower, while a flexible guest room accommodates visiting children and grandchildren. The renovation brings together comfort, functionality and collected design in a home conceived for this stage of the owners’ lives.
