LOCALE 321 is a boutique office and coworking space in downtown Durham, North Carolina, designed to offer a more intimate alternative to conventional shared work environments. Interior designer Maya Sheinberger collaborated with local firm Belk Architecture to shape the two-floor workspace around privacy, flexibility and a strong sense of community. The project combines 19 private offices for individuals and small teams with thoughtfully designed shared amenities and a rooftop veranda. Rather than creating a uniform corporate environment, the interiors balance professional functionality with a distinctive visual identity, supporting both focused work and interaction between tenants. A geometric mural by Durham artist Matt Mahler extends through the common areas, introducing movement and connecting the interior to the city’s creative character. The result is a contemporary commercial interior that brings together private workspace, collaborative areas, local art and hospitality-inspired design within a compact coworking community.
