WHAT house Renovation
WHERE Hod HaSharon, Israel
WHEN 2018
This single-family house in Hod Hasharon was extensively renovated by interior designer Maya Sheinberger, replacing its dark, country-style interior with a bright contemporary home shaped around family life and a strong connection to the outdoors. The renovation extended beyond the interiors: new architectural openings were introduced, the entrance level and garden were redesigned as a continuous environment, the first-floor layout was adapted to the family’s needs, and the attic was converted into a private bedroom for the eldest daughter. A defining moment is the family lounge, where a previously solid wall was opened with a large picture window and an integrated storage bench. An existing olive tree was relocated to align precisely with the new opening, turning the landscape into a focal point of the interior. Elsewhere, a custom white, black and oak library defines an open study area for the children. Natural wood, muted blues and soft grays bring the different spaces together, creating a practical family home with generous storage and a close dialogue between architecture and landscape.
